Scope
The objective of the symposium is to provide a forum of engineers, scientists, and professionals for the exchange of ideas and knowledge on nondestructive testing of materials and structures with applications in civil and other engineering fields. The symposium aims at capturing the current state of the art in NDT methods and applications, and fostering ideas on future research and new developments. Topics
The focus areas of the symposium will include:
- NDT methods for the characterization of materials and structures
- General NDT methods, state of the art, recent developments, use of combined NDT methods, sensors and instrumentation, measurements, signal processing, modeling and imaging techniques.
- NDT for material and property characterization
- Measurement and quantification of material properties including those of cementitious, metallic (including metallurgical perspective), and composite materials for civil and other engineering applications.
- NDT of civil infrastructures
- Damage detection and quantification, condition assessment, life prediction, and case studies on civil infrastructure components such as buildings, bridges, dams, tunnels, foundations, pipes, and pile systems.
- NDT for early age concreteCurrent and developing methods in the assessment of early age concrete properties.
- Health monitoring of structures
- Methods for continuous monitoring, remote sensing technologies, and wireless NDT. Existing and developing methods and case studies.
- NDT and evaluation of historic buildings and monuments
- Assessment and monitoring of historical structures and their foundations including masonry and composite systems. Methods and case studies.
